Who would have thought that the inspiration of two super distant things like the Vitória Régia flower and the Lotus flower, one from the Brazilian Amazon and the other originating from Asia, more precisely Chinese, could have inspired me to create a paper cup with an attached lid that could be done globally?!

The final inspiration to complete this invention of the Lotus Flower Cup® with a flourish was the Shanghai dumpling, and I was in China, in the middle of the global pandemic that ravaged the world in 2020, I was in the beautiful and imposing Shanghai. During my stay I found a place when I was trying to return to Brazil near the international airport that made and sold these cupcakes. Unlike dumplings made elsewhere, this one is closed from top to bottom, bringing the ends together to close the dumpling, and that was the inspiration for closing the cup.

The Lotus Flower Cup® was designed to close quickly, in just two steps, to strengthen and speed up processes within restaurants and cafes.

The closed shape of the Flor de Lótus® Cup resembles two distant flowers, but at the same time similar. The petals of the cup can be closed completely for delivery, one can be opened and the person can drink, or the petals are turned over to reveal a small hole for using a paper straw.

The idea of the Lotus Flower Cup® is to adapt to any shape of any pot and paper cup, I created it with the idea of reducing the use of plastic lids, just as we revolutionized the market with Só Canudos®, when we replaced plastic straws for biodegradable paper straws.”
